PostHeaderIcon Men's Group & *NEW* Mixed Group

AnamAire’s established and professionally facilitated Men’s Group will recommence next term on Monday January 16th 2012 from 7pm till 10pm and will meet on subsequent Monday nights for a total of 20 weeks up until Summer 2012. There are a couple of places still open. Any men interested in experiencing greater self-awareness and developing increased self-esteem over this half year, in a very real and sustainable manner, are encouraged to make contact as soon as possible in order to secure a place.

AnamAire is also launching a Mixed Group next term. This group will maintain an equal (50:50) balance in terms of the membership ratio of men to women. It will run on Sunday nights from 7pm until 10pm and it shall start as soon as the remaining places are taken.

All groups utilise a variety of well-grounded humanistic techniques to gently encourage members to share their life experiences and express their emotional truths in a positive, safe and healing environment.

§ Sharing § Mindfulness § Body Work § Play

§ Breath Work § Energy Work § Dream Work

§ Movement § Contact § Inner Child Recovery Work

The fees are judged to be affordable and negotiable.

Feedback comments from earlier groups:

"I feel a much stronger (and adult) sense of responsibility for myself now; it's as if I'm taking real and proper responsibility for myself at last, and I find it very empowering"

"I am not alone and help is at hand but I must be willing to work on myself"

"I now have a greater awareness and perception of my own issues and of my relationship with myself and others"

"I found the work challenging, and was challenged constantly by the facilitators and group, which helped me to connect with my emotions, something I badly needed to do, as I've spent most of my life trying to avoid my emotions"

PostHeaderIcon Men's Therapy Support Group - New Schedule

AnamAire is pleased to offer new places to men wishing to join its well established and professionally facilitated Men's Therapy Support Group.

In today's ever changing society, men of all ages continue to find themselves displaced, stuck in transition, unfulfilled, depressed, hurt, in shock and otherwise troubled: out of employment, out of relationship, out of the home, out of the family. Perhaps, and indeed more commonly, men are simply losing themselves by being out of alignment with their own authentic and personal potential.

Since April 2009 these ongoing groups have provided compassionate emotional support and empowering personal development to men from all walks of life west of the Shannon: single men, married men, separated/divorced men, employed men, retired men, unemployed men, men on disability, men varying in age from 25 till 65, straight men, gay men, socially and/or emotionally isolated men, depressed men, fearful men, abused men, angry men, grieving men… the list goes on…

The only criteria for inclusion in these groups are that the members are male adults, have a conscious desire to live more fulfilling lives and are committed to working a process of self-exploration and self-expression. Using a variety of well-grounded and humanistic techniques (including experiential body & breath work) group members are gently encouraged to share their life experiences and express their emotional truths in a positive, safe and healing environment. This enhances (or indeed commences) a process of revitalizing personal growth - leading to a greater sense of self-awareness, self-confidence and an improved self-esteem.

Each group is small in size (circa 8 men) and each group is closed - in so far as, once formed, it runs with the same members present each week for the duration of the term. Each man who expresses an interest is informally spoken to and then met with in person by the facilitators in order to discuss the group process and to explore together its suitability. For those men who are financially challenged at present a reduced fee is negotiated and agreed upon whilst the standard fee is nonetheless very reasonably calculated at just €10 per hour.

If you have an interest in working further on your own personal development and if you would like to engage authentically with your fellowmen then perhaps these groups are for you. If the logistics of this particular group does not suit you currently then please do nonetheless register your interest - as future groups may be tailored according to your feedback.

AnamAire is pleased to announce its support schedule for the new Autumn/Winter term and calls upon all men interested to now make contact as soon as possible, as places are limited. Two groups shall be run again this term – one in Ennis (Co. Clare) and one in Galway City.

Since April 2009 these groups have provided personal development and emotional support services to men from all walks of life west of the Shannon: single men, married men, separated/divorced men, employed men, retired men, unemployed men, men on disability, men varying in age from 25 till 65, straight men, gay men, men who are socially and/or emotional isolated, depressed men, fearful men, angry men… the list goes on…

The only criteria for inclusion are that group members are male adults, have a conscious desire to live more fulfilling lives and are committed to working a process of self-exploration and self-expression. The groups are facilitated by two male psychotherapists along with a backup team of psychotherapists and counsellors (both male and female) who are available to provide added affordable support if needed.

Using a variety of well-grounded humanistic techniques (including experiential body & breath work) group members are gently encouraged to share their life experiences and express their emotional truths in a positive, safe and healing environment. This either enhances or commences a process of revitalizing personal growth for members - leading to a greater sense of self-awareness, self-confidence and an improved self-esteem.

“Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.”
